Summary from Goodreads:

Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else—an even more unpredictable new force in her life. The early years are Noah’s story to tell. The later years are Jude’s. What the twins don’t realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world.

My Opinion (SPOILER FREE):

This was a very well written story. Jandy Nelson is an incredible writer, and I was blown away by her story. Her characters were amazing, and just so real. They were relatable, flawed, and perfect all at the same time.

I think the only reason I gave this star 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5 is because I went into this book with expectations that were too high. This book has been sitting on my shelf for years now, and I knew that everyone raved about it. I finally decided to pick it up since everyone talked so very highly of it. Don’t get me wrong, this book was incredible, it just didn’t quite have the impact on me that I was hoping it would. I think if you go into this book not knowing anything though, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful story Jandy Nelson created.
